Minneapolis (or at least some people who live here) has this sort of inferiority complex at times where it wants to be considered as cool as New York or San Francisco or Portland. If you mention one of these cities people will dismiss them or try to one-up the cool things about that city. What they don’t understand is that, if MPLS were to suddenly become ‘hip’ and desirable and people started moving here, it would absolutely destroy everything that the people who live here now love about this place…
